Twitter Tracking The Vice Presidential Debate

At Thursday night?s Vice Presidential Debate we saw Vice President Joe Biden and Representative Paul Ryan sit down and duke it out over basic partisan philosophies. Unlike the presidential debates, which focus more on specific topics and are expected to be a representation of what each candidate will bring to the Presidency personally, the vice presidential debate has historically tried to do more with less time and is to exhibit platform differences between the two parties.

In the one debate, held this past Thursday night, topics from the economy, taxes and foreign affairs ? including the Afghanistan war and possible interventions elsewhere in the Middle East ? to women?s issues, were covered and only a few sparse minutes were dedicated to the personal beliefs and plans of the man speaking instead of generic platform philosophy for the combined two person ticket and national party as a whole. The whole thing wasn?t as big on social media as the first presidential debate but it people were busy talking nonetheless.

Did you watch the debate? What did you think of each candidates performance? Did you participate on social media? With 3.5 million tweets across the duration of the event, here?s a graph showing what people on Twitter were talking about.
