[i am a dekaphobic]: Cafe Bola

Before my friend and I entered the Araneta Coliseum to watch the Maroon 5 concert, I suggested that we have a light dinner first. Almost all restos were full, glad I found seats at Cafe Bola.? Cafe Bola is owned by renowned chef Margarita Fores, who also owns Italian restaurant Cibo. Cafe Bola offers comfort food like pasta, rice toppings and sandwiches with modern Filipino twist at reasonable prices.

This small resto's design and decors are mostly circles, it was named "bola", after all. :) Our table has a 9-ball billiard ball design while the ceiling are decorated with circles too! However, the lighting was too yellowish, hence my food photos were yellowish too. :(

My friend and I both had pasta: mine is Tomato Sauce + Kesong Puti + Danggit Crackle (Php 175) while my friend got Penne + Chorizo + Parmesan Cream (Php 210). Both dishes were served with garlic bread.
Both pasta dishes taste good: mine has a sour edge from the fresh tomatoes contrasted by the saltiness of the danggit. My friend's pasta is more of a creamy and cheesy type, which I also like. The garlic bread shouldn't be ignored too.

For drinks, I had Brewed Coffee (Php 50) while my friend had Dalandan Juice. They're also known for their Kamias Shake, which I skipped since I've already tried one when I went to Cebu. Also, I need something to keep me awake. :P

For dessert, we shared a slice of Kesong Puti Cheesecake (Php 120).

Kesong Puti is a local cheese made from carabao's milk. The Kesong Puti Cheesecake has a coarse texture unlike the traditional cheesecake. It was light and wasn't too sweet. I'll take this cheesecake anytime. :)

Cafe Bola has been serving good food for quite a while and I'm glad I've already tried it. I'd love visit again and try their rice meals and other unique desserts. :)
