Africare is seeking an experienced and highly qualified candidate for the Director of Finance position, based in Lusaka, Zambia to oversee an anticipated Zambia Economic Resilience Program for Improved Food Security (ZERS) program which will enhance coping skills, build assets, and increase incomes for vulnerable households by improving food security through strengthened economic resilience.

Role:

Responsibilities of the Director of Finance include, but are not limited to, efficient and effective functioning of the project operations and financial processes, reporting of results, establish and maintain internal controls to ensure smooth running of the project, and provide support for the project around human resources needs including hiring, training, the development of performance evaluations, and ensure compliance with local labor laws.

The Director of Finance will also oversee a financial management staff including a grants manager and work in synergy with the M&E Officer to ensure monitoring and reporting of project results at every level.

Responsibilities:

??? ?Responsible for efficient and effective functioning of the project operations and financial processes, and reporting of results
??? ?Establish internal controls necessary to ensure the smooth running of the project as a transparent and well-coordinated grants and capacity building project.
??? ?Contribute to the Senior Management Team functions
??? ?Facilitate operations and finance team synergies
??? ?Supervise the Grants Manager, the Monitoring and Evaluation Director, and other finance and management staffs
??? ?Work closely with the M&E Officer to ensure monitoring and reporting of project results at all levels
??? ?Provide support for the project around human resources, hiring, training, development, performance evaluation and management as well as ensuring compliance with local labor laws.


Requirements:
??? ?Masters or Advanced Degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or Related Field
??? ?10+ years of experience with financial management and????? accounting
??? ?Experience with USAID rules and regulations and/or work with USAID-funded projects
??? ?Experience managing large scale grants over $5,000,000
??? ?Experience supervising staff
??? ?Written and oral fluency in English
