Georgia-born Sublime Doughnuts owner Kamal Grant is no stranger to receiving national attention for his sweet creations.
Food & Wine?s Editor-in-Chief, Dana Cowin, once said, ?There is no better breakfast in the world than sweets-savant Kamal Grant?s Fresh Strawberry ?N Cream doughnut. Unless, of course, you want one of his 27 other flavors.?
This popular Midtown doughnut haunt is in the limelight once more, with its recent nomination for ?America?s Best Bakery? by Bake magazine. Sublime is one of six bakeries across the country chosen by Bake?s editorial staff for a people?s choice vote.
While the criteria for selecting the nominees is unclear on the contest website, Grant says, ?The editor of Bake magazine came by and featured us in one of their video series called Discovering America?s Bakeries. That is where I think they chose from.?
The voting process takes place until March 30th. Winners will be announced online after that date and will appear in the May issue of Bake. Congrats to Kamal Grant and Sublime Doughnuts for being nominated!
